Eva Lia Pedriglieri is an interdisciplinary artist, cultural researcher, and arts educator based in South Florida. She graduated in 2019 with dual degrees from The New School in NYC. She holds a BFA in Fine Arts from Parsons the New School for Design and a BA in Culture & Media Studies from Eugene Lang the New School for Liberal Arts.
Her work deals with themes of multiculturalism, family, and identity. She is interested in connecting her physical body and its place in time to concepts of memory, family, and cultural tradition primarily through performance, video, and site-specific installation, as well as traditional painting and drawing techniques. She engages actively with her work and audiences in an effort to navigate between cultural differences that can be subjective or communal by reimagining socialization and bonding practices as an art practice.
She has exhibited artwork and screened short films in galleries and festivals in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Paris FR, and her hometown in Florida. For this public event , Fifty Five +, she curated, directed and hosted an art show with other local artists and friends.
Along with her work as an artist, she is currently the communications director and a teaching artist for City Lore NYC, and art and culture non profit organization focused on fostering living cultural heritage through education and public programs in service of cultural equity and social justice. She is also a program assistant and video editor at Arts for Learning Miami, a non profit organization dedicated to advancing teaching and learning through the arts and community cultural resources.
