This symbol, which is a blend of indigenous Taino imagery from the Dominican Republic and Ancient Etruscan references from Rome, is a symbol I developed to represent my work and identity. It features Atabey, the Taino goddess of fertility and the earth, the Taino symbol of the sun and Etruscan concentric circles, olive leaves, and the colors on the Italian flag and the Dominican flag.

Open Studios is an opportunity for BFA seniors to exhibit their work in progress to a public. On Oct. 25th, 2018 I hosted my first open studios where I presented my studio as a recreation of my Florida living room. The space was meant to be immersive and convey ideas of nostalgia, comfort, and memory. Included in the living room were objects from my actual living room, a projection of the window, a scented wax melter, a wall of family pictures, and a TV playing videos I've made of my family. Entering this living room was traveling across the country to South Florida.
