Personal Emblem
digital drawing

This symbol, which is a blend of indigenous Taino imagery from the Dominican Republic and Ancient Etruscan references from Rome, is a symbol I developed to represent my work and identity. It features Atabey, the Taino goddess of fertility and the earth, the Taino symbol of the sun and Etruscan concentric circles, olive leaves, and the colors on the Italian flag and the Dominican flag.
Based off of a sketchbook doodle and rendered digitally.

Who, Being Loved, Is Poor?
Screenplay and table read
2016

The project, which is comprised of a screenplay and a table read, was inspired by my personal experiences and elements of film studies and writing. The story unfolds in reverse chronological order tracing the relationship of a young couple. The project was a response to a study of performative sex in film and the way sex is either "pornografied" or censored and romanticized/idealized. This story is trying to maintain the elements of cinema while depicting the complexity of young love/sexual experiences.
